The 2026 edition looks toward the future of cinema at a defining moment for the global creative industry.
As artificial intelligence transforms how films are conceived, produced, edited, distributed and experienced, AIFF 2026 will bring filmmakers, technologists, policymakers and creative professionals together to examine both the possibilities and responsibilities that come with these changes.
The conversation goes beyond technology.
It is about creativity, authorship, intellectual property, ethics, cultural identity, employment, representation and the role of the human storyteller in an increasingly technology-driven world.
AIFF 2026 will provide a platform where these questions can be explored from African and global perspectives.
Meet the Founder
Fidelis Duker
The Abuja International Film Festival was founded by Fidelis Duker, a Nigerian filmmaker, producer and cultural advocate whose work has contributed to the development and promotion of Nigeria's film and creative industries.
His vision for AIFF was to establish a credible international platform where Nigerian and African filmmakers could showcase their work, engage their international counterparts and build relationships capable of advancing the industry.
More than two decades later, that vision continues to guide the festival.
